Living on the fringe of the Christian community, trying to make a living playing fiddle, endeavoring to make sense of everything around him and within him was just too much for a young man with zero spiritual resources. Something had to give. One night as he lay in bed sleep eluded him—for the whole night through the dawn an into the sunlit day. An intense and relentless anxiety had come upon him suddenly, filling him with an almost tangible fear. It was a night that he would remember and speak of for the rest of his life. Noboru didn't find relief that night. But something did begin to change in his thinking; deep in his heart  he began to realize that this powerful, pervasive anxiety had everything to do with his refusal to believe there is a God and furthermore that this God is the One who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
