Plan for Grassroots Evangelism

For many years we have had a dream to cover the whole nation of Japan at grassroots level, traveling by road from town to town, visiting those villages in the countryside where it is possible, even likely, the people have never heard the gospel of Christ.
Up until now, we have been traveling by train primarily between cities where there are established churches, but now we feel it is the Lord's time to prepare for this work of covering the gaps. The Lord has already provided, through ministry friends, more than half of the cost of a camping vehicle to be fitted out for Japan travel. It will include, besides living space, equipment for imprompu outreach concerts. It is our intention, Martha's and mine, if the Lord wills, to cover a circuitous route throughout the nation ten times in the next twenty years.

Update September, 2005: We have acquired a camping vehicle. We have been fixing it up; I took it to the Mt. Fuji area for outreach at bluegrass festivals. More news soon....

About the Ministry

The Day is a ministry of connection—connecting with believer and non-believer alike through evangelistic concerts: in churches, hired halls, homes, music clubs, even on the street. It's a ministry of connection, of personal contact with people: in public squares and city parks, in stations and on trains, in churches and shopping malls. It's a ministry of connection with friends and friends of friends: with someone's sister who is trying to walk the Christian walk with a non-Christian husband, with someone's brother-in-law who has run the family business into the ground and is planning suicide.
The Day is a ministry to people who are looking for connection, daring to hope for a reason to break out of their disconnected, Christless lives. More about The Day and Noboru Morishige.
